Lee County is holding its annual household hazardous waste disposal on Saturday, November 5th from 9 until 1 at the Dennis A Wicker Civic Center (1801 Nash Street). This event is open to all Lee County residents. Examples of items accepted are paint, cleaners, pesticides, motor oil, solvents, gas, pool chemicals, and any containers where the label has worn off and what is inside is not known. Landscaping companies and farms are encouraged to use this opportunity to get rid of any unknown or old chemicals. Non-farm businesses need to contact the Lee County Cooperative Extension about disposal options.
